The Dental Admissions Test: Worse than a Root Canal?

Yup, sure is. But regardless, you need to boost those Dental Admissions Test scores. So, how can I do that, you ask?

Well first off, you don't have to pay a lot to boost your DAT scores. Most sources agree that you need to get above a 17 in order to gain admission to dental school. But how can you reach that score?

First, you need to become familiar with the test either by taking a course offered through your college, or by going to Barnes and Noble and reading over the DAT practice test books. Take them into the cafe and study for free!

Try to identify which section of the exam is your weakest: Natural Sciences, Perceptual ability, Reading Comprehension or Quantitative Reasoning. Once you've identified your problem areas, use the resources available at your school. Speak to your professors and ask for their advice. Perhaps they can recommend a tutor who has specialized knowledge on the DAT format. You never know until you ask!

The bottom line is that you have to know what to expect from the test. You CAN learn what types of questions to expect on the DATs, and every time you take them, your scores are sure to go up!

Pass that damn test and get yourself into dental school!
